Thank You Parents, Teachers, and Students!!!

I just wanted to thank all of the parents that attended Parent Night. I hope all of you walked away with some understanding of the effects of Internet Safety and Cyberbullying. We hope to have the computers going home very soon.

Also I want to thank all of the teachers and students who helped set up everything we needed to make this night a success.

Parent Night

All 8th grade parents are asked to attend Parent Night on Thursday, September 23, at the Anadarko Middle School Cafeteria starting at 6:30. Parents will receive an overview of the laptop program; sign a parent and student requirements, responsibility and user agreement. A PowerPoint presentation over internet safety and cyberbullying will be presented and policy and procedures will be handed out to all parents. A user fee of $30.00 per student will be required from each student wanting to take computers home during the school year. This fee can be paid during Parent Night or arrange to be paid out before November 1, 2010. For parents/guardians who are unable to attend on this date and time, an alternative date and time will be established in the near future.

21st Century Skills Assessment

The Learning.com 21st Century Skills Assessment will be given to all 8th grade students on Tuesday, September 14 and Wednesday, September 15 in Mrs. Cook's class. This assessment uses both multiple choice and task based questions assess the students skills.

Laptop Update

The laptops are ready! We have them labeled and ready for checkout. We will be using them this week for the 21st Century Skills Assessment. We will be having a parent and student meeting within the couple of weeks to go over the policies and procedures. We will also be going over Internet safety and digital citizenship.
